KWA....
I had to take Lady Catherine to the vet. She was her usual gorgeous, docile, graceful self...until they had to take her to the Secret Veterinary Area for procedures. The Doc, who had just been telling me what a beautiful, sweet, compliant little girl I had, came in and said, "That's not working!" and proceeded to tell me that "Princess" (the Doc's new name for Catherine), had definite opinions! (Noooooooo.....). The Doc called her "Diva" too (like mother, like daughter....). The kicker came when the receptionist went in the back to ask what the computer code was for the visit and said (loud enough for me to hear), "You know, for Little Miss Attitude..." My cat has a rep....at the vet's! LOL!
I did get compliments on my Intarsia washcloth while waiting, tho..... :)
Knitting Tips From My Son
* You're a good knitter if you can catch your mistakes
* Keep your stitches up so you don't stretch your yarn
* Don't go around your needles twice!
* Don't stop in the middle of a row!
* Keep your yarn in your project bag so you don't get germs & dirt on it & stuff...
So, you got that knitting world?

Mama's New Toy!

Though he is in high-tech, he eschews most handheld gadgetry - yet looky what Techno-Hubby got me as an early birthday present!
They were out of the Cingular 8125 that I had been drooling over for months now, but in seeing it at the store, it's kinda big & clunky. Anywhoo, my new best friend, Kevin, at Cingular says I can give it a test-drive for 30 days, by which time they will have the 8125 in stock. Meanwhile, check out the "I grew very fond of it rather quickly" Bluetooth technology, EDGE enabled, almost 1 gig having, internet capable (nothing like seeing your blog on your phone!) Blackberry 8700!
WooooHooo! Let's hear it for the girl! :)
OKC (Obligatory Knitting Content):
I got the Noro Kureyon to begin my samples for the retreat (I'm teaching intarsia, cables & a ruffle scarf). The Kureyon is for the cables.

Obligatory Kitty Content

Yes, I'm a Knitting Kitty head! I broke down & applied to the ring, even though the relationship between being a knitting blogger & being owned by a feline is suspect at best! Here is a picture of Catherine and her adoring "brother". When I am done with my current five billion and six WIPs, I hope to begin on the moebius basket from 2nd Treasury of Magical Knitting

Socks On My Mind....
I'm somewhat of an oddity (like that's a news flash! LOL!) in that I am pretty much the only person I know who does a turn heel, rather than a heel flap. Not to malign you flappers, but I just prefer the cleaner look of a nicely turned heel.
Let's hear you weigh in on the issue (after voting you have to check out the "see map" link...too cool!!!):

Use What You Have Month....

April is Use What You Have Month. I am so not up to the challenge. I am a bad, bad yarn fondler. It's a professional hazard, working in "the biz" as I do. One of my many jobs is to receive the new yarn into inventory. And as a Professional Yarn Fondler, each ball, skein & hank must be subjected to rigorus fondling. Some of said yarn somehow manages to find its way to the register & into my bag before I can fully comprehend the import of such.
Then there is the Stash Management portion of the (waaaaay out of control) yarn purchasing show. I am blessed (?) to have a hubby to has an addiction of his own: comic books. No not the current ones you can get for a few bucks, but the "ever-so-rare-gotta-buy-on-ebay" kind that can set you back some serious duckets. So he's not gonna quibble with my addiction and I leave his alone, as well (though I hear I am somewhat legendary at a few of the comic book shops!). So with both of our raging addictions clashing, how do we manage to buy, buy, buy and store, store, store all this swag? (No, really....answer me! LOL!)
So, I urge you do do as I say & not as I do this month and use your stash!
